The Woman in Ministry

By Dr. Helen Jacobs

“…she shall be called Woman…” (Genesis 2:23)

PART 1
In some of today’s modern society, we find in some churches that there is a great wall of partition formed by prejudice between men and women that has evolved over the centuries.

Ignorance of the Bible and human arrogance among the saints have caused many to use the Scriptures to hinder and spiritually cripple their sisters in Christ.

God’s earliest blueprint must govern our thinking with regard to gender. Ha’adam, with the definite prefix or Article “Ha“, used in Genesis 1 for “Man” is not the proper name Adam with a prefix or an article. Ha’adam is a generic term meaning “Humanity” or “Mankind.”

Genesis 5:1-2 states God blessed Adam and Eve and called their name “Man” (Ha‘adam) in the day they were created. After this, the prefix or article is dropped and “Adam” becomes the proper name of the man. Note that God did not give His command to rule to just one person, but to all humanity, including the soon-to-be-woman!

Birthing New Moves of God

By SharaLee S. Ward

There are many theories proposed as to why Satan chose to deceive Eve. One theory that intrigues me is the idea that Satan targeted Eve rather than Adam because she can reproduce.

God is a creative God and He is the only person or entity who has always existed. God created Satan and we can read the account in Isaiah 14:12-15.  Satan was designed to be an angel of light, a commander in Heaven. He became proud and wanted to be like God and was cast down from Heaven.   Satan can only pervert what God has created for good.   He can not create something out of nothing.  We can see how Satan would have a deep seeded anger toward woman.

God created man and woman out of love, His desire to have companionship, and in His likeness.  He loves us so much that His design was that we would co-labor with Him to establish His Kingdom on the earth.  Just as a woman conceives life in her womb that must come to full term before delivery, so in the body of Christ it is conceivable that she also conceives the new moves of God to birth in His time.

Redeeming the Time

By Sarah Brady

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
~Ephesians 5:15-17 (ESV)

An old year ends, a new one begins. The coming of a new year brings a time that is natural for reflection, for thinking deeply about our past and our future. Many of us use this time to consider what we’d like to change about our lives in the next year. Maybe we decide that we should build better relationships with family or friends, or exercise on a regular basis, or read more frequently, or get more involved in church, or watch less television, or any other of a host of possibilities we can think of to make us better people. What do all of these decisions—these resolutions—have in common? Perhaps the most basic commonality is that of time. Whatever changes we want to make in our lives usually involve how we spend the precious gift of time.

Approaching God Without Shame

By Bernice H. Jacobs

Have you ever felt shame or guilt? What do you think God thinks about it? Do you feel you let God down when you feel these emotions? What exactly is shame? Shame can be defined as a, “painful sense of guilt or degradation caused by consciousness of guilt or of anything degrading, unworthy, or immodest. - a state of dishonor or disgrace.”

The enemy reminds us of our sin to bring feelings of shame. Each time you think about your past, and/or the sinful event which the enemy brings to your remembrance, shame is awakened.

What is guilt? Guilt can be defined as, “the fact or condition of having committed a legal or moral offense. – a feeling of remorse arising from a real or imagined or commission of an offense.”

Read John 8:1-11

I often wondered was Jesus writing the scribes and Pharisees sins on the ground and as each of them saw their names and sinful events they left.

John 8:10-11

When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Will or Grace
Is there an answer?
Will and Grace
Can these two be partners?

By Queendrh

How do will and grace sit side by side in the Sprit-Lead life? Do they have a place as partners or are they bitter enemies? Is it one or the other, or is it both?

Self-will has been viewed as such a negative thing, and yes, a will that is not submitted to God is a dangerous tool, a foe not to be trusted or depended upon. Nevertheless, God gave us our wills; our freewill is one of the main tools God relates too and works through us with. He desires our righteousness, our obedience, our fellowship, our love, our commitment, our adherence to His Will and Ways; but only if it is our choice by way of our freewill to give it to Him.

He has His angels and heavenly beings created to worship and magnify Him at all times. Their desires do not exist; they were created for this purpose. It is not optional or negotiable. That is just how it is, plain and simple. However, He wanted beings also that would choose Him, therefore, He created human beings. So how does this endless war between the will of man and the grace of God; to do, act, be, say… become a peace treaty?

Steps toward a treaty -

1. It starts with a heart that truly wants what God wants. His will, His ways, His purpose, His character, the Fruit of His Spirit, sanctification, holiness, … Only if the heart truly wants what God wants can it be trusted. Ones heart must be checked and committed to God on a continual basis to be reliable.
This is being submitted to God. James 4:7
